Sajda in the Quran

Sajda (سجدة) refers to an act of prostration performed by Muslims in worship. In the context of the Quran, there are certain verses known as Ayat al-Sajda (Verses of Prostration) that invoke an act of Sajda when recited.

There are 15 places in the Quran where a prostration is recommended or obligatory upon recitation. The following is a list of these verses:

Surah As-Sajda 32:15 Prostration as a sign of faith.
Surah Sa’d 38:24 Repentance and humility.
Surah Fussilat 41:38 Submission in contrast to arrogance.
Surah An-Najm 53:62 Direct command to prostrate to Allah.
Surah Inshiqaq 84:21 Reminder of submission to Allah’s command.
