ان لوگوں نے صرف گمراہی پر اکتفا نہ کیا ، بلکہ۔
ومکروا مکرا کبارا (17 : 22) ” ان لوگوں نے بڑا بھاری مکر کا جال پھیلا کر رکھ دیا “۔ یعنی اس قدر عظیم سازش کی کہ اس سے آگے کوئی بڑی سازش نہ ہو۔ انہوں نے دعوت اسلامی کے تمام راستے بند کرنے کے لئے مکاری کی۔ لوگوں کے دلوں کو دوسرے کاموں میں مشغول کردیا اور ان کے دلوں کے اندر دعوت اترنے کے مواقع ہی ختم کردیئے۔ کفر ، گمراہی اور جاہلیت کو ان کے لئے حسین بنادیا۔ اور لوگ جاہلیت ہی میں بھٹکتے رہے۔ ان کی بڑی مکاری یہ تھی کہ یہ لوگوں کو ان الہوں کی عبادت میں لگائے رکھتے تھے جن کو انہوں نے الٰہہ کہہ رکھا تھا۔ عوام الناس کے دلوں میں ان بتوں کی حمیت اور غیرت پیدا کردی تھی۔
