106:4

ٱلَّذِيٓ أَطۡعَمَهُم مِّن جُوعٖ وَءَامَنَهُم مِّنۡ خَوۡفِۭ ٤

جس نے اُنہیں بھُوک سے بچا کر کھانے کو دیا¹ اور خوف سے بچا کر امن عطا کیا۔²

[1] یعنی جس خوف سے عرب کی سرزمین میں کوئی محفوظ نہیں ہے اُس سے یہ محفوظ ہیں۔ عرب کا حال اُس دور میں یہ تھا کہ پورے ملک میں کوئی بستی ایسی نہ تھی جس کے لوگ راتوں کو چین سے سوسکتے ہوں، کیونکہ ہر وقت ان کی یہ کھٹکا لگا رہتا تھا کہ نہ معلوم کب کوئی غارت گر گروہ اچانک اُس پر چھاپا مار دے۔ کوئی شخص ایسا نہ تھا جو اپنے قبیلے کے حدود سے باہر قدم رکھنے کی ہمت کر سکے، کیونکہ اکّا دُکّا آدمی کا زندہ بچ کر واپس آجانا، یا گرفتار ہوکر غلام بن جانے سے محفوظ رہنا گویا امرِ محال تھا۔ کوئی قافلہ ایسا نہ تھا جو اطمینان سے سفر کر سکے، کیونکہ راستے میں جگہ جگہ اُس پر ڈاکہ پڑنے کا خطرہ تھا، اور راستے بھر کے با اثر قبائلی سرداروں کو رشوتیں دے کر تجارتی قافلے بخیریت گزر سکتے تھے۔ لیکن قریش مکّہ میں بالکل محفوظ تھے، انہیں کسی دشمن کے حملے کا خطرہ نہ تھا۔ اُن کے چھوٹے اور بڑے ہر طرح کے قافلے ملک کے ہر حصّے میں آتے جاتے تھے، کوئی یہ معلوم ہو جانے کے بعد کہ قافلہ حَرَم کے خادموں کا ہے ، انہیں چھیڑنے کی جرأت نہ کر سکتا تھا۔ حد یہ ہے کہ اکیلا قریشی بھی اگر کہیں سے گزر رہا ہو اور کوئی ا س سے تعرُّض کرے تو صرف لفظ”حَرَمی“ یا اَنَا مِنْ حَرَمِ اللہِ کہہ دینا کافی ہو جاتا تھا، یہ سُنتے ہی اٹھے ہوئے ہاتھ رُک جاتے تھے۔
[2] یہ اشارہ ہے اِس طرف کہ مکّے میں آنے سے پہلے جب قریش عرب میں منتشر تھے تو بھوکوں مر رہے تھے، یہاں آنے کے بعد اُن کے لیے رزق کے دروازے کھلتے چلے گئے اور ان کے حق میں حضرت ابراہیم علیہ السلام کی وہ دعا حرف بحرف پوری ہوئی کہ اے پروردگار ، میں نے اپنے اولاد کے ایک حصّے کو تیرے محترم گھر کے پاس ایک بے آب و گیاہ وادی میں لا بسایا ہے تا کہ یہ نماز قائم کریں ، پس تو لوگوں کے دلوں کو اِن کا مشتاق بنا اور انہیں کھانے کو پھل دے (ابراہیم۔ آیت37)۔

Translations are available in both JSON and SQLite database formats. Some translation has footnotes as well, footnotes are embedded in the translation text using sup HTML tag. To support a wide range of applications, including websites, mobile apps, and desktop tools, we provide multiple export formats for translations.

Available export formats:

1. Nested Array Structure

Translations are grouped by Surah. Each Surah is an array containing translations for each Ayah in order. This format export translations as simple text, no formatting, no footnotes.

2. Key-Value Structure

Each translation is stored with the Ayah reference (e.g. 1:1) as the key and the translated text as the value. This format also exports translations as simple text, no formatting, no footnotes etc.

Translations with Footnotes

Translations with footnotes are available in three more formats:

1. Footnotes as Tags Format

Footnotes are embedded using a <sup> tag with a foot_note attribute. Footnote contents are stored separately under f key.

2. Inline Footnote Format

Footnotes are inserted directly using double square brackets e.g([[this is footnote]])

3. Text Chunks Format

In chunks export format, text is divided into chunks. Each chunk could be a simple text or an object. Object can be either footnote or a formatting tag. This format is useful for applications can't directly render the HTML tags. Here is an example of Bridges` translation for Surah An-Nas , Ayah 6:
