إِنَّآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ رِيحٗا صَرۡصَرٗا فِي يَوۡمِ نَحۡسٖ مُّسۡتَمِرّٖ ١٩

ہم نے ایک پیہم نحوست کے دن¹ سخت طوفانی ہوا اُن پر بھیج دی جو لوگوں کو اُٹھا اُٹھا کر اِس طرح پھینک رہی تھی

[1] یعنی ایک ایسے دن جس کی نحوست کئی روز تک مسلسل جاری رہی ۔ سورہ حٰم لسجدہ، آیت 16 میں فِیْ اَیَّا مٍ نَّحِسَتٍ کے الفاظ استعمال ہوئے ہیں ، اور سورہ الحاقہ آیت 7 میں فرمایا گیا ہے کہ ہوا کا یہ طوفان مسلسل سات رات اور آٹھ دن جاری رہا ۔ مشہور یہ ہے کہ جس دن یہ عذاب شروع ہوا وہ بدھ کا دن تھا۔ اسی سے لوگوں میں یہ خیال پھیل گیا کہ بدھ کا دن منحوس ہے اور کوئی کام اس دن شروع نہ کرنا چاہیے ۔ بعض نہایت ضعیف احادیث بھی اس سلسلے میں نقل کی گئی ہیں جن سے اس دن کی نحوست کا عقیدہ عوام کے ذہن میں بیٹھ گیا ہے ۔ مثلاً اب مردویہ اور خطیب بغدادی کی یہ روایت کہ اخراربداء فی الشھر یوم نحس مستمر (مہینے کا آخری بدھ منحوس ہے جس کی نحوست مسلسل جاری رہتی ہے )۔ ابن ضوزی اسے موضوع کہتے ہیں ۔ ابن رجب نے کہا ہے کہ یہ حدیث صحیح نہیں ہے ۔ حافظ سخاوی کہتے ہیں کہ جتنے طریقوں سے یہ منقول ہوئی ہے وہ سب واہی ہیں ۔اسی طرح طبرانی کی اس روایت کو بھی محدٹین نے ضعیف قرار دیا ہے کہ یوم الاربعاء یوم نحس مسقر (بدھ کا دن پیہم نحوست کا دن ہے ۔) بعض اور روایات میں یہ باتیں بھی مروی ہیں کہ بدھ کو سفر نی کیا جائے، لین دین نہ کیا جائے، ناخن نہ کٹوائے جائیں ، مریض کی عیادت نہ کی جائے، اور یہ کہ جذام اور برص اسی روز شروع ہوتے ہیں ۔مگر یہ تمام روایات ضعیف ہیں اور ان پر کسی عقیدے بنا نہیں رکھی جا سکتی۔ محقق مناوِی کہتے ہیں : تو قی الا ر بعاء علی جھۃ الطیرۃ و ظن اعتقاد المنجمین حرام شدید التحریم، اذا الایام کلھا لِلہ تعالیٰ ، لا تنفع ولا تضر بذاتھا، ’’ بد فالی کے خیال سے بدھ کے دن کو منحوس سمجھ کر چھوڑ نا اور نجومیوں کے سے اعتقادات اس باب میں رکھنا حرام، سخت حرام ہے ، کیونکہ سارے دن اللہ کے ہیں ، کوئی دن بذاتِ خود نہ نفع پہنچانے والا ہے نہتقصان‘‘ علامہ آلوسی کہتے ہیں ’’ سارے دن یکساں ہیں ، بدھ کی کوئی تخصیص نہیں ۔ رات دن میں کوئی گھڑی ایسی نہیں ہے جو کسی کے لیے اچھی اور کسی دوسرے کے لیے بری نہ ہو۔ ہر وقت اللہ تعالیٰ کسی کے لیے موافق اور کسی کے لیے نا موافق حالات پیدا کرتا رہتا ہے ‘‘۔

Translations are available in both JSON and SQLite database formats. Some translation has footnotes as well, footnotes are embedded in the translation text using sup HTML tag. To support a wide range of applications, including websites, mobile apps, and desktop tools, we provide multiple export formats for translations.

Available export formats:

1. Nested Array Structure

Translations are grouped by Surah. Each Surah is an array containing translations for each Ayah in order. This format export translations as simple text, no formatting, no footnotes.

2. Key-Value Structure

Each translation is stored with the Ayah reference (e.g. 1:1) as the key and the translated text as the value. This format also exports translations as simple text, no formatting, no footnotes etc.

Translations with Footnotes

Translations with footnotes are available in three more formats:

1. Footnotes as Tags Format

Footnotes are embedded using a <sup> tag with a foot_note attribute. Footnote contents are stored separately under f key.

2. Inline Footnote Format

Footnotes are inserted directly using double square brackets e.g([[this is footnote]])

3. Text Chunks Format

In chunks export format, text is divided into chunks. Each chunk could be a simple text or an object. Object can be either footnote or a formatting tag. This format is useful for applications can't directly render the HTML tags. Here is an example of Bridges` translation for Surah An-Nas , Ayah 6:
