76:8

وَيُطۡعِمُونَ ٱلطَّعَامَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِۦ مِسۡكِينٗا وَيَتِيمٗا وَأَسِيرًا ٨

اور اللہ کی محبت¹ میں مسکین اور یتیم اور قیدی² کو کھانا کھلاتے ہیں³

[1] اصل الفاظ ہیں عَلیٰ حُبِّہٖ۔ اکثر مفسرین نے حُبِّہٖ کی ضمیر کا مرجع کھانے کوقرار دیا ہے، اور وہ اس کا مطلب یہ بیان کرتے ہیں کہ وہ کھانے کےمحبوب اور دل پسند ہونے اور خود اُس کے حاجت مند ہونے کے باوجود دوسروں کو کھلادیتے ہیں۔ ابن عباس ؓ اور مجاہد کہتے ہیں کہ اس کا مطلب ہے عَلیٰ حُبِّ الاِطعام، یعنی غریبوں کو کھانا کھلانے کے شوق میں وہ ایسا کرتے ہیں۔ اور حضرت فُضَیل بن عیاض اور ابو سلیمان الدّرانی کہتےہیں کہ اللہ تعالیٰ کی محبت میں وہ یہ کام کرتے ہیں۔ ہمارے نزدیک بعد کا یہ فقرہ کہ اِنَّمَا نُطْعِمُکُمْ لِوَجْہِ اللہِ (ہم تو اللہ کی خوشنودی کی خاطر تمہیں کھلا رہے ہیں)، اسی معنی کی تائید کرتا ہے۔
[2] اگرچہ بجائے خود کسی غریب کو کھانا کھلانا بھی ایک بہت بڑی نیکی ہے ،لیکن کسی حاجت مند کی دوسری حاجتیں پوری کرنا بھی ویسا ہی نیک کام ہے جیسا بھوکے کو کھانا کھلانا۔ مثلاً کوئی کپڑے کا محتاج ہے، یا کوئی بیمار ہے اور علاج کا محتاج ہے ، یا کوئی قرضدار ہے اور قرض خواہ اسے پریشان کر رہا ہے ، تو اس کی مدد کرنا کھانا کھلانے سے کم درجے کہ نیکی نہیں ہے۔ اس لیے اس آیت میں نیکی کی ایک خاص صورت کو اس کی اہمیت کے لحاظ سے بطور مثال پیش کیا گیا ہے، ورنہ اصل مقصود حاجت مندوں کی مدد کرنا ہے۔
[3] قدیم زمانے میں دستور یہ تھا کہ قیدیوں کو ہتھکڑی اور بیڑیاں لگا کر روزانہ باہر نکالا جاتا تھا اور وہ سڑکوں پر یا محلّوں میں بھیک مانگ کر پیٹ بھرتے تھے۔ بعد میں اسلامی حکومت نے یہ طریقہ بند کیا(کتاب الخراج، امام ابو یوسف، صفحہ15۰۔طبع1382ھ۔ اِس آیت میں قیدی سے مراد ہر وہ شخص ہے جو قید میں ہو، خواہ کافر ہو یا مسلمان، خواہ جنگی قیدی ہو، یا کسی جُرم میں قید کیا گیا ہو، خوا ہ اسے قید کی حالت میں کھانا دیا جاتا ہو یا بھیک منگوائی جاتی ہو، ہر حالت میں ایک بے بس آدمی کو جو اپنی روزی کے یے خود کوئی کوشش نہ کر سکتا ہو، کھانا کھلانا ایک بڑی نیکی کا کام ہے۔

Translations are available in both JSON and SQLite database formats. Some translation has footnotes as well, footnotes are embedded in the translation text using sup HTML tag. To support a wide range of applications, including websites, mobile apps, and desktop tools, we provide multiple export formats for translations.

Available export formats:

1. Nested Array Structure

Translations are grouped by Surah. Each Surah is an array containing translations for each Ayah in order. This format export translations as simple text, no formatting, no footnotes.

2. Key-Value Structure

Each translation is stored with the Ayah reference (e.g. 1:1) as the key and the translated text as the value. This format also exports translations as simple text, no formatting, no footnotes etc.

Translations with Footnotes

Translations with footnotes are available in three more formats:

1. Footnotes as Tags Format

Footnotes are embedded using a <sup> tag with a foot_note attribute. Footnote contents are stored separately under f key.

2. Inline Footnote Format

Footnotes are inserted directly using double square brackets e.g([[this is footnote]])

3. Text Chunks Format

In chunks export format, text is divided into chunks. Each chunk could be a simple text or an object. Object can be either footnote or a formatting tag. This format is useful for applications can't directly render the HTML tags. Here is an example of Bridges` translation for Surah An-Nas , Ayah 6:
