قوله: {المدثر} : العامَّةُ على تشديدِ الدالِ وكسرِ الثاءِ، اسمَ فاعلٍ من تَدَثَّر. وأصلُه المُتَدَثِّر، فأُدْغِم كالمُزَّمِّل. وفي حرفِ أُبَيّ «المُتَدثِّرُ» على الأصل المُشارِ إليه. وقرأ عكرمةُ بتخفيفِ الدالِ اسمَ فاعلٍ، مِنْ دَثَّر بالتشديد، ويكون المفعولُ محذوفاً أي: المُدَثِّر نفسَه كما تقدَّمَ في «المُزَمِّل» . وعنه أيضاً فَتْحُ الثاءِ لأنه اسمُ مفعولٍ. قال الزمخشري: «مِنْ دَثَّره. يُقال: دُثِّرْتُ هذا الأمرَ، وعُصِبَ بك كما قال في المُزَمَّل» انتهى. ومعنى «تَدَثَّر» لَبِسَ الدَّثارَ، وهو الثوبُ الذي فوق الشِّعار، والشِّعارُ ما يلي الجسَدَ. وفي الحديث: «الأَنْصارُ شِعارٌ والناسُ دِثارٌ» وسيفٌ داثِرٌ: بعيد العَهْدِ بالصِّقال. ومنه: قيل للمنزلِ الدارسِ: «داثِر» لِذَهابِ أعلامِه. وفلانٌ دَثْرُ المالِ أي: حَسَنُ القيام به.
