وَكَمْ

And how many

أَهْلَكْنَا

We destroyed

قَبْلَهُم

before them

مِّن

قَرْنٍ

a generation

هُمْ

أَشَدُّ

(were) stronger

مِنْهُم

than them

بَطْشًا

(in) power

فَنَقَّبُوا۟

so they explored

فِى

throughout

ٱلْبِلَٰدِ

the lands

هَلْ

Is (there)

مِن

any

مَّحِيصٍ

place of escape
