وقوله : ( وأرادوا به كيدا فجعلناهم الأخسرين ) أي : المغلوبين الأسفلين; لأنهم أرادوا بنبي الله كيدا ، فكادهم الله ونجاه من النار ، فغلبوا هنالك .
وقال عطية العوفي : لما ألقي إبراهيم في النار ، جاء ملكهم لينظر إليه فطارت شرارة فوقعت على إبهامه ، فأحرقته مثل الصوفة .
