وقوله ( إِنَّهُمْ أَلْفَوْا آبَاءَهُمْ ضَالِّينَ ) يقول: إن هؤلاء المشركين الذين إذا قيل لهم: قولوا لا إله إلا الله يستكبرون، وجدوا آباءهم ضلالا عن قصد السبيل، غير سالكين مَحَجَّة الحق.
