( يوم لا يغني مولى عن مولى شيئا ) أي : لا ينفع قريب قريبا ، كقوله : ( فإذا نفخ في الصور فلا أنساب بينهم يومئذ ولا يتساءلون ) [ المؤمنون : 101 ] ، وكقوله ( ولا يسأل حميم حميما . يبصرونهم ) [ المعارج : 10 ، 11 ] أي : لا يسأل أخا له عن حاله وهو يراه عيانا .
وقوله : ( ولا هم ينصرون ) أي : لا ينصر القريب قريبه ، ولا يأتيه نصره من خارج .
