قال مجاهد: كان حرثهم عنبا "فانطلقوا وهم يتخافتون" أي يتناجون فيما بينهم بحيث لا يسمعون أحدا كلامهم.
ثم فسر الله سبحانه وتعالى عالم السر والنجوى ما كانوا يتخافتون به.
