وقوله: ( إِنَّا أَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكَافِرِينَ سَلاسِلَ ) يقول تعالى ذكره: إنا أعتدنا لمن كفر نعمتنا وخالف أمرنا سلاسل يُسْتَوْثَق بها منهم شدّا في الجحيم ( وأغْلالا ) يقول: وتشدّ بالأغلال فيها أيديهم إلى أعناقهم.
وقوله: ( وَسَعِيرًا ) يقول: ونارا تُسْعر عليهم فتتوقد.
