( وجعلنا الليل لباسا ) أي : يغشى الناس ظلامه وسواده ، كما قال : ( والليل إذا يغشاها ) [ الشمس : 4 ] وقال الشاعر :
فلما لبسن الليل ، أو حين نصبت له من خذا آذانها وهو جانح
وقال قتادة في قوله : ( وجعلنا الليل لباسا ) أي : سكنا .
