ثم قال : ( فمهل الكافرين ) أي : أنظرهم ولا تستعجل لهم ، ( أمهلهم رويدا ) أي : قليلا . أي : وترى ماذا أحل بهم من العذاب والنكال والعقوبة والهلاك ، كما قال : ( نمتعهم قليلا ثم نضطرهم إلى عذاب غليظ ) [ لقمان : 24 ] .
