﴿فأتبع سببا﴾: الفاء عاطفة، وأتبع فعل ماض، وفاعله مستتر تقديره هو، وسببًا مفعول به، وقيل: الفعل أتبع يتعدى لمفعولين حذف أحدهما، وتقديره: فأتبع سببًا سببًا آخر، أو فأتبع أمره سببًا.
