( فإن توليتم ) أعرضتم عن قولي وقبول نصحي ، ( فما سألتكم ) على تبليغ الرسالة والدعوة ، ( من أجر ) جعل وعوض ، ( إن أجري ) ما أجري وثوابي ، ( إلا على الله وأمرت أن أكون من المسلمين ) أي : من المؤمنين . وقيل : من المستسلمين لأمر الله .
