إن عبادي ليس لك عليهم سلطان ، أي : قوة .
قال أهل المعاني : يعني على قلوبهم .
وسئل سفيان بن عيينة عن هذه الآية فقال : معناه ليس لك عليهم سلطان تلقيهم في ذنب يضيق عنه عفوي ، وهؤلاء ثنية الله الذين هداهم الله واجتباهم . إلا من اتبعك من الغاوين .
