( وقالوا ) يعني : قال المترفون للفقراء الذين آمنوا : ( نحن أكثر أموالا وأولادا ) ولو لم يكن الله راضيا بما نحن عليه من الدين والعمل لم يخولنا الأموال والأولاد ( وما نحن بمعذبين ) أي : إن الله أحسن إلينا في الدنيا بالمال والولد فلا يعذبنا .
