وقوله : ( فإن انتهوا فإن الله غفور رحيم ) أي : فإن تركوا القتال في الحرم ، وأنابوا إلى الإسلام والتوبة ، فإن الله [ غفور رحيم ] يغفر ذنوبهم ، ولو كانوا قد قتلوا المسلمين في حرم الله ، فإنه تعالى لا يتعاظمه ذنب أن يغفره لمن تاب منه إليه .
