وقوله تعالى : ( بما أخلفوا الله ما وعدوه وبما كانوا يكذبون ) أي : أعقبهم النفاق في قلوبهم بسبب إخلافهم الوعد وكذبهم ، كما جاء في الصحيح ، عن رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - أنه قال : آية المنافق ثلاث : إذا حدث كذب ، وإذا وعد أخلف ، وإذا اؤتمن خان وله شواهد كثيرة ، والله أعلم .
