اللہ تعالیٰ خبر دیتا ہے کہ ” ہر شخص اپنے اعمال میں قیامت کے دن جکڑا بندھا ہو گا لیکن جن کے دائیں ہاتھ میں اعمال نامہ آیا وہ جنت کے بالا خانوں میں چین سے بیٹھے ہوئے جہنمیوں کو بدترین عذابوں میں دیکھ کر ان سے پوچھیں گے کہ تم یہاں کیسے پہنچ گئے؟ وہ جواب دیں گے کہ ہم نے نہ تو رب کی عبادت کی نہ مخلوق کے ساتھ احسان کیا بغیر علم کے جو زبان پر آیا بکتے رہے جہاں کسی کو اعتراض کرتے سنا ہم بھی ساتھ ہو گئے اور باتیں بنانے لگ گئے اور قیامت کے دن کی تکذیب ہی کرتے رہے یہاں تک کہ موت آ گئی “۔
«یقین» کے معنی موت کے اس آیت میں بھی ہیں «وَاعْبُدْ رَبَّكَ حَتّٰى يَاْتِيَكَ الْيَقِيْنُ» [15-الحجر:99] یعنی ” موت کے وقت تک اللہ کی عبادت میں لگا رہ “ اور سیدنا عثمان بن مظعون رضی اللہ عنہ کی وفات کی نسبت حدیث میں بھی یقین کا لفظ آیا ہے۔ [صحیح بخاری:3929]
