﴿يا أيها النبيُّ لم تحرم ما أحل الله لك﴾ [رُوي أنَّ النبيَّ ﷺ دخل حفصة في يوم نوبتها فخرجت هي لبعض شأنها فأرسل رسول الله ﷺ إلى مارية جاريته وأدخلها بيت حفصة وواقعها فلمَّا رجعت حفصة علمت بذلك فغضبت وبكت وقالت: أَما لي حرمةٌ عندك وحقٌّ؟ ! فقال رسول الله ﷺ: اسكتي فهي حرامٌ عليَّ أبتغي بذلك رضاك وحلف أن لا يقربها وبشَّرها بأنَّ الخليفة من بعده أبوها وأبو عائشة رضي الله عنهم أجمعين ذكوراً وإناثاً وقال لها: لا تخبرني أحداً بما أسررتُ إليك من أمر الجارية وأمر الخلافة من بعدي فلمَّا خرج رسول الله ﷺ من عندها أخبرت عائشة رضي الله عنها وعن أبيها بذلك وقالت: قد أراحنا الله من مارية فإنَّ رسول الله ﷺ حرَّمها على نفسه] وقصَّت عليها القصَّة فنزل: ﴿لم تحرم ما أحل الله لك﴾ أَيْ: الجارية ﴿تبتغي﴾ بتحريمها ﴿مرضاة أزواجك والله غفور رحيم﴾ غفر لك ما فعلت من التَّحريم ثمَّ أمره بأن يكفِّر عن يمنيه فقال:
