قَوْلُهُ تَعالى: ﴿ووُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ باسِرَةٌ﴾ أخْرَجَ الطَّسْتِيُّ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبّاسٍ أنَّ نافِعَ بْنَ الأزْرَقِ قالَ لَهُ: أخْبِرْنِي عَنْ قَوْلِهِ: ﴿ووُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ باسِرَةٌ﴾ قالَ: كالِحَةٌ قاطِبَةٌ، قالَ: وهَلْ تَعْرِفُ العَرَبُ ذَلِكَ؟ قالَ: نَعَمْ، أما سَمِعْتَ عَبِيدَ بْنَ الأبْرَصِ وهو يَقُولُ: (p-١٣٤)
؎صَبَحْنا تَمِيمًا غَداةَ النَّسا رِ شَهْباءَ مَلْمُومَةً باسِرَهْ
وأخْرَجَ عَبْدُ الرَّزّاقِ، وعَبْدُ بْنُ حَمِيدٍ، وابْنُ جَرِيرٍ، وابْنُ المُنْذِرِ عَنْ قَتادَةَ في قَوْلِهِ: ﴿ووُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ باسِرَةٌ﴾ قالَ: عابِسَةٌ.
وأخْرَجَ عَبْدُ بْنُ حَمِيدٍ، وابْنُ جَرِيرٍ، وابْنُ المُنْذِرِ عَنْ قَتادَةَ: ﴿ووُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ باسِرَةٌ﴾ قالَ: كالِحَةٌ ﴿تَظُنُّ أنْ يُفْعَلَ بِها فاقِرَةٌ﴾ قالَ: أنْ يُفْعَلَ بِها شَرٌّ.
وأخْرَجَ عَبْدُ بْنُ حَمِيدٍ، وابْنُ جَرِيرٍ، وابْنُ المُنْذِرِ عَنْ مُجاهِدٍ ﴿ووُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ باسِرَةٌ﴾ قالَ: كاشِرَةٌ ﴿تَظُنُّ أنْ يُفْعَلَ بِها فاقِرَةٌ﴾ قالَ: داهِيَةٌ.
