(وانشقت السماء فهي يومئذ واهية) أي انشقت جنبها وانصدعت وتفطرت بنزول ما فيها من الملائكة فهي في ذلك اليوم ضعيفة مسترخية ساقطة القوة من هول ذلك اليوم بعد ما كانت محكمة، قال الزجاج يقال لكل ما ضعف جداً قد وهى فهو واهٍ وقال الفراء وَهْيُها تَشَقُّقُها، وقال ابن عباس واهية متخرقة أي متساقطة خفيفة لا تتماسك كالعهن المنفوش.
وَالْمَلَكُ عَلَى أَرْجَائِهَا وَيَحْمِلُ عَرْشَ رَبِّكَ فَوْقَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ ثَمَانِيَةٌ (17) يَوْمَئِذٍ تُعْرَضُونَ لَا تَخْفَى مِنْكُمْ خَافِيَةٌ (18) فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ فَيَقُولُ هَاؤُمُ اقْرَءُوا كِتَابِيَهْ (19) إِنِّي ظَنَنْتُ أَنِّي مُلَاقٍ حِسَابِيَهْ (20) فَهُوَ فِي عِيشَةٍ رَاضِيَةٍ (21)

Tafsir content may span multiple ayahs. QUL exports both the tafsir text and the ayahs it applies to.
