قوله: ﴿فَلَمْ يَزِدْهُمْ دُعَائِي إِلَّا فِرَارًا (6)﴾ قال مقاتل: يعني تباعداً من الإيمان [["تفسير مقاتل" 210/ أ، و"النكت والعيون" 6/ 100، و"فتح القدير" 5/ 297.]].
وقال قتادة: هو أنه كان الرجل يذهب بابنه إلى نوح فيقول: احذر لا يغرك، فإن أبي قد ذهب بي إليه وأنا مثلك، فحذرني كما حذرتك [["تفسير عبد الرزاق" 2/ 319، و"جامع البيان" 29/ 92، و"النكت والعيون" 6/ 100، و"المحرر الوجيز" 5/ 373، و"الدر المنثور" 8/ 289، وعزاه أيضا إلى عبد بن حميد، وابن المنذر.]].
وقوله: ﴿وَإِنِّي كُلَّمَا دَعَوْتُهُمْ لِتَغْفِرَ لَهُمْ﴾ قال صاحب النظم: ظاهر هذا أن المغفرة جزاء لدعائهم، وهو في الباطن جزاء.
المعنى: هو سبب ادعائهم، وهذا مقتضى من قوله: ﴿قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ إِنِّي لَكُمْ نَذِيرٌ مُبِينٌ (2) أَنِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ وَاتَّقُوهُ وَأَطِيعُونِ (3) يَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ مِنْ ذُنُوبِكُمْ﴾ فالتأويل: وإني كلما دعوتهم لتغفر لهم؛ لأمرهم بعبادة الله واتقائه وطاعته لتغفر لهم.
وقوله: ﴿وَاسْتَغْشَوْا ثِيَابَهُمْ﴾ قال ابن عباس: جعلوا ثيابهم على رؤوسهم لئلا يسمعوا كلامي [["الجامع لأحكام القرآن" 18/ 300، و"الدر المنثور" 8/ 289 وعزاه إلى سعيد بن منصور وابن المنذر.]].
وقال مقاتل: غطوا رؤوسهم لئلا يسمعوا دعائي [["تفسير مقاتل" 210/ أ.]].

Tafsir text may include <html> tags for formatting such as <b>,
<i>, etc.

Tafsir content may span multiple ayahs. QUL exports both the tafsir text and the ayahs it applies to.
