قَالُوا۟
They say
سُبْحَٰنَكَ
Glory be to You
مَا
Not
كَانَ
it was proper
يَنۢبَغِى
it was proper
لَنَآ
for us
أَن
that
نَّتَّخِذَ
we take
مِن
besides You
دُونِكَ
besides You
مِنْ
any
أَوْلِيَآءَ
protectors
وَلَٰكِن
But
مَّتَّعْتَهُمْ
You gave them comforts
وَءَابَآءَهُمْ
and their forefathers
حَتَّىٰ
until
نَسُوا۟
they forgot
ٱلذِّكْرَ
the Message
وَكَانُوا۟
and became
قَوْمًۢا
a people
بُورًا
ruined
