وَإِذَا

And when

بُشِّرَ

is given good news

أَحَدُهُم

(to) one of them

بِمَا

of what

ضَرَبَ

he sets up

لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ

for the Most Gracious

مَثَلًا

(as) a likeness

ظَلَّ

becomes

وَجْهُهُۥ

his face

مُسْوَدًّا

dark

وَهُوَ

and he

كَظِيمٌ

(is) filled with grief
