ثم ساروا من عنده فدخلوا على لوط في صورة شباب حسان ، فلما رآهم كذلك ، ( سيء بهم وضاق بهم ذرعا ) أي : اهتم بأمرهم ، إن هو أضافهم خاف عليهم من قومه ، وإن لم يضفهم خشي عليهم منهم ، ولم يعلم بأمرهم في الساعة الراهنة . ( قالوا لا تخف ولا تحزن إنا منجوك وأهلك إلا امرأتك كانت من الغابرين)
