ثم قال تعالى : ( قل ) أي : يا محمد لهؤلاء المشركين : ( أولو جئتكم بأهدى مما وجدتم عليه آباءكم قالوا إنا بما أرسلتم به كافرون ) أي : ولو علموا وتيقنوا صحة ما جئتهم به ، لما انقادوا لذلك بسوء قصدهم ومكابرتهم للحق وأهله .
