وقوله : ( وأغطش ليلها وأخرج ضحاها ) أي : جعل ليلها مظلما أسود حالكا ، ونهارها مضيئا مشرقا نيرا واضحا .
قال ابن عباس : أغطش ليلها : أظلمه . وكذا قال مجاهد ، وعكرمة ، وسعيد بن جبير ، وجماعة كثيرون .
( وأخرج ضحاها ) أي : أنار نهارها .
