( ثم صدقناهم الوعد ) الذي وعدناهم بإهلاك أعدائهم ، ( فأنجيناهم ومن نشاء ) أي أنجينا المؤمنين الذين صدقوهم ، ( وأهلكنا المسرفين ) أي : المشركين المكذبين ، وكل مشرك مسرف على نفسه .
