The first word of verse (7:100) is divided into 3 morphological segments. An interrogative alif, conjunction and negative particle. The prefixed alif is an interrogative particle used to form a question and is usually translated as "is", "are", or "do". The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and".
