The eleventh word of verse (8:43) is divided into 4 morphological segments. A conjunction, emphatic prefix, verb and subject pronoun. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The prefixed particle lām is usually translated as "surely" or "indeed" and is used to add emphasis. The form VI perfect verb (فعل ماض) is second person masculine plural. The verb's triliteral root is nūn zāy ʿayn (ن ز ع). The suffix (التاء) is an attached subject pronoun.
