The second word of verse (2:128) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A conjunction, verb and object pronoun. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The imperative verb (فعل أمر) is second person masculine singular. The verb's triliteral root is jīm ʿayn lām (ج ع ل). The attached object pronoun is first person plural.
