The ninth word of verse (2:8) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A circumstantial particle and negative particle. The connective particle wa is usually translated as "while" and is used to indicate the circumstance of events. The negative particle acts like the verb laysa (ليس). This verb belongs to a special group of words known as kāna and her sisters (كان واخواتها).
