The twentieth word of verse (18:18) is divided into 4 morphological segments. A conjunction, emphatic prefix, verb and subject pronoun. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The prefixed particle lām is usually translated as "surely" or "indeed" and is used to add emphasis. The passive perfect verb (فعل ماض) is second person masculine singular. The verb's triliteral root is mīm lām hamza (م ل أ). The suffix (التاء) is an attached subject pronoun.
