The twelfth word of verse (2:210) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A resumption particle and verb. The connective particle wa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The passive perfect verb (فعل ماض) is third person masculine singular. The verb's triliteral root is qāf ḍād yā (ق ض ي).
