The second word of verse (18:41) is a form IV imperfect verb (فعل مضارع). The verb is third person masculine singular and is in the subjunctive mood (منصوب). The verb's triliteral root is ṣād bā ḥā (ص ب ح). The verb (يصبح) belongs to a special group of words known as kāna and her sisters (كان واخواتها).
