The first word of verse (18:65) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A resumption particle, verb and subject pronoun. The connective particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The perfect verb (فعل ماض) is third person masculine dual. The verb's triliteral root is wāw jīm dāl (و ج د). The suffix (الألف) is an attached subject pronoun.
