The first word of verse (19:16) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A resumption particle and verb. The connective particle wa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The imperative verb (فعل أمر) is second person masculine singular. The verb's triliteral root is dhāl kāf rā (ذ ك ر).
