The eighteenth word of verse (20:40) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A conjunction, verb and subject pronoun. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The perfect verb (فعل ماض) is second person masculine singular. The verb's triliteral root is qāf tā lām (ق ت ل). The suffix (التاء) is an attached subject pronoun.
