The sixth word of verse (21:17) is divided into 4 morphological segments. An emphatic prefix, verb, subject pronoun and object pronoun. The prefixed particle lām is usually translated as "surely" or "indeed" and is used to add emphasis. The form VIII perfect verb (فعل ماض) is first person plural. The verb's triliteral root is hamza khā dhāl (أ خ ذ). The suffix (نا) is an attached subject pronoun. The attached object pronoun is third person masculine singular.
