The first word of verse (2:265) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A conjunction and noun. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The noun is masculine and is in the nominative case (مرفوع). The noun's triliteral root is mīm thā lām (م ث ل).
