The eighth word of verse (24:55) is divided into 4 morphological segments. An emphatic prefix, verb, emphatic suffix and object pronoun. The prefixed particle lām is usually translated as "surely" or "indeed" and is used to add emphasis. The form X imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is third person masculine singular and is in the indicative mood (مرفوع). The verb's triliteral root is khā lām fā (خ ل ف). The suffixed emphatic particle is known as the nūn of emphasis (نون التوكيد). The attached object pronoun is third person masculine plural.
