The fourteenth word of verse (3:20) is divided into 3 morphological segments. An interrogative alif, verb and subject pronoun. The prefixed alif is an interrogative particle used to form a question and is usually translated as "is", "are", or "do". The form IV perfect verb (فعل ماض) is second person masculine plural. The verb's triliteral root is sīn lām mīm (س ل م). The suffix (التاء) is an attached subject pronoun.
