The first word of verse (3:37) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A resumption particle, verb and object pronoun. The connective particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The form V perfect verb (فعل ماض) is third person masculine singular. The verb's triliteral root is qāf bā lām (ق ب ل). The attached object pronoun is third person feminine singular.
