The first word of verse (29:2) is divided into 2 morphological segments. An interrogative alif and verb. The prefixed alif is an interrogative particle used to form a question and is usually translated as "is", "are", or "do". The perfect verb (فعل ماض) is third person masculine singular. The verb's triliteral root is ḥā sīn bā (ح س ب).
