The twentieth word of verse (3:49) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A conjunction and verb. The prefixed conjunction fa is usually translated as "and". The imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is third person masculine singular and is in the indicative mood (مرفوع). The verb's triliteral root is kāf wāw nūn (ك و ن). The verb (يكون) belongs to a special group of words known as kāna and her sisters (كان واخواتها).
