The fourth word of verse (39:18) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A resumption particle, verb and subject pronoun. The connective particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The form VIII imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is third person masculine plural and is in the indicative mood (مرفوع). The verb's triliteral root is tā bā ʿayn (ت ب ع). The suffix (الواو) is an attached subject pronoun.
