The seventh word of verse (40:41) is divided into 4 morphological segments. A circumstantial particle, verb, subject pronoun and object pronoun. The connective particle wa is usually translated as "while" and is used to indicate the circumstance of events. The imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is second person masculine plural and is in the indicative mood (مرفوع). The verb's triliteral root is dāl ʿayn wāw (د ع و). The suffix (الواو) is an attached subject pronoun. The attached object pronoun is first person singular.
